That's sad and i love dogs, but as someone who once owned a dog...you do NOT just open the door if you know your dog is super friendly or will jump on people.

Anytime I went over someone's house and they answered the door, they had that dog by the collar or they say "hold on, I'm getting the dog". Very bad dog owners here.
