So this will obviously be AOTY for alot of people. But I want to talk to ones who feel the opposite. I need to know why you can listen to a song like glass eyes and think it's trash? Especially if you are a music fan, audiophile etc
I think a lot of people just plain don't like Thom Yorke's/Radiohead's style, which is totally understandable. Music is subjective, after all.
Being the stereotypical pretentious Radiohead fan that I am, though, I think a lot of people just don't have the attention span for challenging music. I've been a fan of them for years, and even with this album it took me about 5 listens to start to "get it", and will continue to appreciate it more over the years. I could obviously appreciate the musicianship and complexity, but at first it all seemed very "one note". Thats what's great about them, though...their songs are so complex and layered that they never get old. Take some time to figure out, but that's half the fun.

I turned into a Stan over the years too. I get if radiohead is too sad or like you said people can't adjust to Thom's voice/style. But my complaint is they might not be your cup of tea, but to deny the musical genius they have displayed for decades is insane to me.
And as far as Thom's voice, it was always the emotions behind it that makes it so powerful. I keep replaying glass eyes because I'm obsessed with it. But you actually feel the panic attack he is describing in the beginning. And I don't know how many other singers in the world who could perfectly convey the absolute heart breaking realization he has when he is singing "I feel this love turn cold" at the end. Bruh
