I hate to be negative but how f*cking hard is it to get Alc, Muggs, Daringer, Conductor, etc. and make an album that actually sounds like a Wu project?

There is literally an entire subgenre of rap now that sounds like 90's hip-hop and 90's rappers (mostly) refuse to utilize it. It's mind boggling.

Fred.

Maybe he doesn't want it to sound like a Wu project.

:gucci:

Nobody listens to the Wu to not sound like the Wu. Least of all during an album run featuring a bunch of old rappers.

GZA did an album with Muggs and it's easily top 2 out of his discography. The rest of the Clan should've done that when Muggs was doing whole projects with random ass rappers.

If Gibbs can get two Alc projects to himself there's no reason Meth, Rae, Ghost, etc. can't as well. Same with Madlib, Conductor, etc.

I do think a lot of the 90's rappers don't go that route ..BECAUSE it's so derivative.

I'm not hating but I don't really fukk with the throwback dudes either. I get bored QUICK with the Griselda-like cats because there's nothing they do or brought to the game that I haven't heard before and done better.

Exceptions made for Roc Marci, Alchemist (sometimes) and Ka (legit top 10-er for me), they took the 90's sound and explored new sounds and waves (RIP KA).

That said, still Swizz though :snoop:

Agree. Rae one of the few notable 90s artists that managed to tastefully update their old sound while keeping the essence intact with Cuban Linx II. Everything he did in between and since been a mixed bag with way too much cheap production. But I don't really want to hear him over Griselda type production. 4th, True Master and Alchemist would be great if he got a decent budget to clear samples.

If he getting GOOD beats from Nottz and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, I'm here for that, their styles work for him. Swizz we just got to hope it's one beat, and one of his decent ones :mjlol: Rae would be good over the couple beats Swizz had on LT2.

But seriously I really hope this is great, as otherwise it‘ll suck the air out of anticipation for SC2 and OB4CL3.

And we’ve been anticipating those a loooong time now.

Just want to feel those feels again.

Think some of yall forget how strong Nas' connection to Swizz iz

There were only 2 Producer compilation for Hip Hop 50 on Mass Appeal, one was Preemo, the other one...

Being that this is a NY rapper, a Mass Appeal release, Mr Keys is gonna slide in like its Alicias ******

Find it funny that this is also a week from the Clipse album, dope raps on the horizon i guess
