Not really. You can call off sick all you want, but each railroad counts it differently. You're basically allowed to be off sick so many days in a certain time period. What some RRs (BNSF) have now is unrealistic and you can be up for termination pretty quick.

Majority of Labor Union jobs are occupied by a huge number of Black workers.
It's one of the reasons why Republicans want to bust Labor Unions.
This isn't the 1950's. Being anti-Labor Union in 2022 is damn near as being anti-Black, IMO.

I pay my employees 18. They get time off PAID and vacation time. If they wanna work a holiday which we’re usually closed for majority of them I’ll pay them time in a half.
And mind you, I’m working with them.
One of my employees ain’t have nothing cause he was a felon. I gave him a chance and he’s my best damn employee now he’s bout to look into starting his own construction business and saving up for his daughter on the way

They already get Personal Days, and Vacation days. The problem is so many people have left that they now decline your personal time off, so that the only way off is to mark off sick. They then turn around and count multiple sick time as a quick path to termination. The RRs were never going to allow 7 paid sick days, that kind of goes against everything they stand for. They don't want unpaid sick days.
