Had this game forever, but foolishly, I barely played it. Now I'm starting to get into it. I've been missing out.

Is it worth it to buy the year 3 pass? Are there any shortcuts to getting renown? If not, what are the year 1/2 operators I should unlock whenever I get enough?

THe Seeason Passes are really just to get the new Operators unlocked early. If you don't have any renown, and don't feel like grinding to get it paying for the ops would be an option. I don't even know if the Year 3 pass unlocks all the previous ops or just the ones coming this year so it's your call

All of the operators have a place except for like 2. I wouldn't call it a disadvantage not having them all, but you are limited... but since you're not playing at a high level right now you won't be handicapped by just picking up the game and playing. If the ops you don't have are important, chances are your teammates will pick them anyway.
