I don't get that black people don't at least understand the thinking behind that sentiment. If you have 5 brothers, and they all went to Harvard, people would say it reflects positively on the family and the parents. People would probably look at YOU and assume positive things without even meeting you whether they were true or not. If those same brothers all went to jail, people would also come to some conclusions. You would like to be seen as just an individual but that's not really how the world works. Other races have the luxury to not be sensitive to these things because no other race has their public image under constant attack like the black man and woman.
