Anyways I like Rondo a lot of places (nh). Damn near any squad with at least 1 all star + him is playoff bound. Any WEST team that gets him is beast. Look for a Bledsoe-Rondo trade

Pacers could maybe try to dump Hibbert for him, but realistically I feel that their roster is in such a transition, Rondo would be pointless at this point.

Nobody needs a rondo, not yet at least. Add in the likelihood Wallace is part of any Rondo contract and I don't see Rondo moving before the deadline.

It would be better for the Celtics if they trade Rondo in the middle of the season after he proves he's still elite pg so that they can get more in return. It's been too long, people kinda forgot how nice he was.

In fairness, I don't remember Marc Gasol being a prospect in demand when he was traded for his brother. @tremonthustler1 can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think a lot of people saw him being as good as he's become.

As far as the whole triangle argument, it can work... and people seem to not know or just ignore the fact that Rondo basically spent last season on his 3 point shot and it was somewhat respectable and will probably be even more improved after this summer. His shot is not the issue people make it out to be, it's just an easy diss for the uneducated basketball game that hasn't paid close attention to Rondo in the past few years.

I still don't see a lot of teams out there that would want Rondo and match up for a trade. The Rockets, Knicks, Mavs, Lakers, Pacers, Pistons all make sense but they don't have the kind of package the Celtics would be looking for. It'd be a combination of picks, a young player (probably a SF or defensive C), and expiring contracts that can match up with Rondo and Gerald Wallace.
I don't expect us to get a huge haul here at all, but you can't give up Rondo for nothing either.

Tell me kind sir, what "leverage" does Boston have in this situation

Whoever truly WANTS him, knows they will have to pay him a decent amount of money in a long term deal
Most teams would wanna see how he plays and holds up this year, then a trade for him near the trade deadline should go down

Melo has been pretty vocal about wanting to play with Rondo though, so I'm sure he'd be pushing for it...

What could the Mavs, Rockets, or Indy offer though? They don't really have any appealing young players or extra picks

Melo wants Rondo and he'd be a marquee free agent anyway. If they plan on targeting him they might as well do it now to lock him up and get him in the system a year earlier
