Did you watch the Celtics play in the playoffs that year when Bradley, Terry & Pierce were struggling to make basic entry passes? Yet the team was better with Rondo sitting on the bench in a suit instead of him running the offense? The Celtics went on a 7 game winning streak right after Rondo got hurt that inflated their record post-injury. After the winning streak ended they went 16-21 for the rest of the year including the playoffs. In the playoffs they struggled running the offense with only a combined 48 points in the second halves of games 1 & 2. But let's pretend like they were better off with Pierce & Bradley playing PG than Rondo.

I'm not even gonna judge Rondo based on what he did last season because he missed a year with a major knee injury and it was expected for him to struggle a bit. If he comes out this season and looks like he did last year then I'll be concerned.

I wouldn't wanna give up the remaining cap room we plan to have for 2016 and 2017 for Rondo. Great player but in decline. Plus the fact that he can't shoot wouldn't help us much
