Why take the bait?

That's how advanced Ra was. He was thinking about the life forms 200 years down the line that we might encounter.

"Born to be the soul controller of the universe"

Yep, the next line ties all of that in perfectly. How else would you start the song off when speaking in that large of a context :snoop:

LL was not seeing Rakim. KRS wasn't either.

Kane and Rakim were my favorites as a kid and it would've been a great battle but after hearing those bars Rakim had for him I don't think Kane had a chance on wax.

Rakim was just on another level at the time. It might be hard to appreciate if you weren't there but he raised the bar. He made the Shan's, Moe Dee's, and the other guys before him sound average to wack. They were just rapping while Rakim was a lyricist. Only thing comparable is when Nas dropped Illmatic.

Kane would have killed him... Kane even said it :yeshrug:

Nas didn't name Ra's kids on UBR. Personally, I think Ra was offended when Nas listed Ra's solo projects and said, "I think something.... The Master" which came across a little dismissive. Also, Nas said Ra dropped an album titled "The R"?
