He was a beast, too bad injuries ravaged his career. If he wasn’t injury prone I think him and the dream could have been winning the Rockets titles before 94. Don’t forget about his run in 1986 playoffs he hit that series ending turnaround jumper to beat the Lakers and go to the Finals.

Why'd you have to bring that up breh :mjcry:

That fall the year after they went to the finals started his downfall. Even then it was going to be hard for Houston to do too much after John Lucas smoked his self out of the league and their 2 SGs both received either two or three year drug suspensions from the league. They would've been top heavy like crazy.

Damn them highlights were ridiculous though and him and Akeem together would've been a mismatch against everybody.
Yeah, that Rockets team was a legit threat to the Lakers supremacy until Sampson's back fukked up and cocaine ended that run before it could go anywhere.

Still don't understand to this day how UVA didn't get at least one championship with Ralph. That nikka was a fukkin beast in college.
Ralph Sampson was a beast, but he wasn't the biggest in the biggest moments.

I know people gonna bring up that game 5 series winning shot against the Lakers, but he wasnt a big game player in college or the NBA.

In an all time draft, breh might go #1.

Just based on high school/college/measurables/skillset.

Not knowing how their future NBA career turned out.

You throw all the GOAT prospects in one draft (Wilt, Kareem, Bron, Shaq, Durant, AD, Sampson etc..etc..)

Sampson goes #1, right?:jbhmm:

That should be a 30 for 30

Did you know a team beat the Showtime Lakers at the height of their powers. What ever happened to the 86 Rockets.

By the way the league lost a lot of good players between 77 and 88 from smack.
