Dude has been going for almost 8 hours now. He was reading right from the new act for awhile and some woman and man were helping him out and they were having a very interesting conversation. He needs to make it till midnight in order for it to be an official filibuster. His voice is hoarse

I actually really respect him for doing this. He's calling out the data collection loophole and putting in some serious work.

rand talking about how the NSA shares info on domestic crimes it picks up while doing "foreign surveillance" read: any data that leaves the country, ie you send an email that bounces off a server in another nation then comes back.

they then share this info with the dea or irs and tell them to create a reason they found the info on their own

fukked up

he's talking a lot about this. really appreciate him doing what he's doing

a lot about the nsa sharing info with the dea and how it's fukked up

"
As the NSA scoops up phone records and other forms of electronic evidence while investigating national security and terrorism leads, they turn over "tips" to a division of the Drug Enforcement Agency ("DEA") known as the Special Operations Division ("SOD"). FISA surveillance was originally supposed to be used only in certain specific, authorized national security investigations, but information sharing rules implemented after 9/11 allows the NSA to hand over information to traditional domestic law-enforcement agencies, without any connection to terrorism or national security investigations.

But instead of being truthful with criminal defendants, judges, and even prosecutors about where the information came from, DEA agents are reportedly obscuring the source of these tips. For example, a law enforcement agent could receive a tip from SOD—which SOD, in turn, got from the NSA—to look for a specific car at a certain place. But instead of relying solely on that tip, the agent would be instructed to find his or her own reason to stop and search the car. Agents are directed to keep SOD under wraps and not mention it in "investigative reports, affidavits, discussions with prosecutors and courtroom testimony,"

Awesome way to stand up to the powers that be. Just be aware that the democrats are completely ok with the patriot act and the bulk collection of data.

"bu bu bu bu bu he's a racist!" - typical left wing moron
Thats All I get when I mention Paul. Its crazy to how hyped the Clinton Supporters were when she finally had time after her campaign was officially rolling to mention the militarization of police and the effects of the war on drugs within the black community. .... :childplease:Paul been saying that for years

I still don't know about rand Paul. His dad was a worthless fukkboy. Anyone who ever support ron Paul is suspect especially if your not white.

But I definitely like what rand is doing here and I believe he's a much better choice than Clinton.
