Izzo just coaches so scared when it comes to Dook. Why wasn't Miles put into one of the "high/low" spots in the middle of the zone? Having him float on the perimeter and rotate the ball was boneheaded. That doesn't absolve Miles from criticism either. He wasn't aggressive at all and settled way too often. Dook is a flawed team, especially without Bagley. No way MSU should have lost this game.

Doesn't have the vision to work the middle of the zone.

to even double down on that, the 2nd half they played a short bench (still have no idea why Bolden didn't get more than 9 minutes. He should have transferred , Coach K is a nut with his big man rotations. They legit played only 5 guys in the 2nd half...

bolden is just getting over strep; i'm surprised he was able to even go this game. He actually did ok offensively, was just going up very weak after getting boards. On D, he was giving up the baseline to easy on the zone; he's much better in a man-to-man scheme with his ability to hedge on PnR. His minutes will pick back up, but javin has definitely solidified 1st big off the bench role. also, bolden just isn't as good as his ranking was in highschool. He got by on size/coasting/natural talent. plenty of big guys take time to adjust to college game. Not everyone can be OAD. Look at hicks and meeks recently Look at wenyen gabriel and SKJ at UK. Look at Bragg at KU and now ASU? plenty of bigs, including McD's AA bigs take time.

Yup something is awry with the car he wrecked. They said it’s registered with the compliance office but they’re digging deeper into it.

was reading on reddit that it was maybe an audi?

From what I understand it’s a Dodge Challenger but an Audi wouldn’t surprise me at all.

how are they flawed without Bagley? MSU has a good defensive team and Duke was able to get hot and still win...

thanks, i did read today he had Strep...he was going up weak but should have been kicking out. He grabbed some good offensive boards but stubbonly kept trying to score

Javin earned being first big off but no excuses for Bolden, if Coach K's history is any indication he will be riding the pine by the 2nd half of the year. And it doesn't get that much better next year. So hopefully this is all due to strep, otherwise he's gonna wish he transferred last year. NO way should he be getting Vrank minutes as a sophmore

yea, i was really frustrated at both he and wendell mostly in the first half for not kicking out to grayson or gary. Best time to get a 3 is on offensive boards like that. Mason and marshall were both great at doing that.

marques will improve; will need that 4 big man rotation down the line. He'll definitely be ahead of vrank and will be starting center next year if he stays --> tre/rj/cam/jav/ques

Grayson. Grayson got hot, sir. Dook barely shot 30% even with Grayson going off and being efficient. In fact, Grayson was the only person MSU had to fear hitting a damn jump shot. Duval final numbers look good, but he's atrocious shooting the rock. Wendell Carter looks like just "a dude" when playing someone his own size. K has no faith in their man to man defense.....he leaned on a zone like he was Boeheim last night. K pulling the same shyt he did last year.....have a stable full of horses and only trust 5-6 of them. I'm not saying Dook is garbage. In fact, they're very deserving of the #1 ranking. But the one thing I left away with last night is that without Bagley, everyone on Dook except Grayson is self checked (Trent, Jr looks like he'll be accountable as the season goes along). Looking like UK out there. Just a bunch of athletes who's skill set begins and ends with being an athlete.

i can't argue with that especially since you said they are deserving of the #1, obviously season still early but not seeing what teams are going to be able to guard Duke. i know Carter didn't look good offfensively but MSU looks like they have some shot blockers and Carter wasn't being smart with the ball. This isn't gonna be a perimeter based team as in the past and if they are able to do damage with Bagley and Carter inside, they won't need to be and Allen is gonna make defenses pay and I think O Connel and Trent Jr as well
