His defense has been pretty good this season. Potential is there he has the tools to be a top 10 wing but I don't think it will ever happen unfortunately.

LeBron has "defended" 5s in small ball as well.

Draymond has matched up with M.Gasol, Val, Howard, Gortat, Hibbert amongst others over the past two seasons - and not just on switches. Like it was mentioned above he was guarding Gasol (Bogut on Zbo) for a large portion of the Memphis series. It's nothing like the odd occasion where LeBron is guarding a 5. Plus I mean there's quite a few big men who rotate through the 4 and 5 - which Draymond guards.

When dudes refer to him guarding 1-5, it pretty much means he can guard big men, wings and guards in any spot.
