Granted I didn't think they would win 60 again, but I also didn't think they'd fall off as much as they have so far. Did DeMarre Carroll really have that much of an impact?

Last year they had a top 10 offense and defense. This year they're about average on both ends, why the fall off especially considering they only lost one rotation player?

That's another issue. All the top PGs are pretty much untouchable in this context, so it would basically mean that they'd need a star wing or lottery picks in return. Which would be all dependent on if they were willing to sacrifice a few years in order to start fresh - which seems unlikely at this point. The real killer was convincing DeAndre to stay, that money could've be used to balance out the roster a bit more.

I think there's a pretty decent gap between them and those other 4, and I don't think they are 5th best team for sure. They certainly aren't good enough to be surprised that they had a tough game with the Pistons. Pistons are better than you think and they play pretty well at home.

If we play the way we are supposed I don't think it's even a question tbh. But I'm biased so you may be right.
