Patrick Patterson is the thesis to your post....Raptors have turned a 6'9" 240 PF into an exclusive 3 point shooter who makes at 31% and absolutely refuses to go to the basket anymore....despite the fact it hasnt done for the team what they thought it would...

I've noticed a lot of NBA players taking 3's they have no business shooting

Just cause steph takes 3's 5 feet behind the line it doesn't mean you should

It's that theory of a 33% 3 point shooter still generates the same points as a 50% 2 point shooter. That shyt's way too simplistic though since it ignores when you have big men out of the paint it takes away offensive rebounding chances, chances of drawing fouls or doubles down in the paint which can open it up for others. Plus if a dude is only shooting 33% from deep he ain't bending the defense enough to generate the spacing intended. Plus long rebounds leading to more fast breaks. I hate it.

Funny thing is that Curry if we being honest does take a fair amount of bad shots....however he is a great shooter and a great shotmaker..i.e he can manufacture scores out of bad shots/broken possessions.

The flip side of that is that it can eventually lead to bad habits...
