The reason why distance travelled on offense and defense is relevant here is that despite the 76ers not having a great amount of talent, they're managing to win games because of how active they are on offense (#1 in passes made and #1 in distance travelled, which shows how well they move the ball and how well they move without the ball - which you need when you don't have any elite shot creators - McConnell and Rodrigues certainly aren't great playmakers) and defense (#7 in distance travelled, which shows active they are when defending). If they were ranked near the bottom in distance travelled per game on both ends of the floor, they wouldn't have the record they do right now simply because they don't have the talent.
That's why Brett Brown deserves to be in the conversation for Coach of the Year; simply because he's got this team performing on a level much higher than their talent level.
