Both are selfish stat players. They don't make anyone around them better.

Team will continue to suck.

NO ain't going nowhere with them.
That "teammates suck" shyt don't fly when Russ is surrounded by nikkas that can't shoot to save their lives but he has them fighting for a top 4 seed

AD and Boogie are the new Kevin Loves

That Kobe snub was 10 years ago. shyt has changed.

Nothing has changed. Team success still matters. See Derrick Rose over Lebron in 2010. Bulls were primarily a defensive team and Rose got credit for MVP solely by being the best offensive player on a defensive oriented team, similar to Allen Iverson.

nikkas averaging a 30pt triple double on a team that lost its 1st option :camby:. at that a very young team

Both Westbrook and Harden have inflated numbers based on the system or the overall team strategy. Westbrook's rebounding is largely inflated by the fact that he leads the league in uncontested rebounds. 80% of his rebounds are uncontested. It's +EV for teammates to box out and allow him to get the rebound in order to push the pace. People are obsessed with Triple Doubles when in reality his triple doubles are a by product of his real impact, generating offense in transition before the defense can get set. He's scoring a fifth of his points in transition and this is extremely valuable for a team that struggles in the half court. He also leads NBA history in terms of usage rate.

This isn't to say he isn't deserving but what I'm asking for is consistency. He hasn't been great enough to buck the trend that team wins matter.

Saying someone gets uncontested rebounds isn't exactly doing anything to describe how he got those uncontested rebounds. He got two tonight on two straight possessions where the Pelicans just shot quickly out of transition and the ball bounced out to him. That's not cheesing for rebounds, he just ran back and he got them.

And in any case, you want guys to grab those uncontested boards as otherwise they turn into offensive boards. Having an extra guy crashing the glass isn't hurting their rebounding numbers nor their transition numbers.

No he's not. Roberson is a good-great defender, but I don't know if I call him elite as he's not shutting down guys much bigger than him like Tony Allen used to or how bradley can.

I don't know how Adams ranks as a defender, but I'm sure it's not top 5 in rim protection. Kanter is awful defensively. Oladipo is average. Sabonis is trash and slow. McBuckets is garbage. Taj is good.

They got about 3 good defenders on the entire squad breh.

What player has the leeway that Westbrook does? To take any shot? Make any pass? Some of the best rebounders in the league allowing you to get uncontested boards? Who?

Jerami Grant has been good for them defensively and elite probably is too far. But compared to the wings on the Pels there's no comparison.

While not great defensively, Kanter is good offensively and Sabonis/Abrines shoot much better than the role players on the Pels.

Like I've said time and time again, we need to stop using the box score as a measurement for what Westbrook is doing - it's not only unfair to others in the league (past and present), but it's partly unfair to him (which isn't to say he doesn't also receive unwarranted praise because of his box score). His impact goes well beyond whatever surface stats he generates.
