The seventh seed would host the eighth seed, with the winner of that single game nabbing the seventh spot, sources say. Meanwhile, the ninth seed would host the 10th seed, with the winner of that game facing the loser of the 7-versus-8 matchup for the final playoff spot.

Why are they trying to turn the nba into college basketball ?
A 10 seed does not deserve a play in.... the league is so top heavy it’s pointless anyway. They will get steamrolled by a 1 seed in a 7 game series.

It’s a dope idea and you complaining about more basketball and I think it gives the 7 see if they win a rhythm before the playoffs.

I think this is unnecessary but it makes the league more exciting. And it's nothing like college basketball because college is much more random, considering that they have less fouls until they foul out and it's one game elimination.

It does not make the league more exciting. How does a 9 or 10 seed sneaking in instead of a 7 or 8 against a 1 seed exciting ? That works in college because the entire tournament is single elimination. It is 100% pointless when it’s going to be 7 game series after the play in. 9 or 10 seed will likely be even less competitive against the 1 seed than 7 or 8.
Dude making changes just to change shyt and try and appease casual fans. It’s ridiculous. It does not add value to the game
