it was briefly discussed by some insiders for a moment, but as for value
a) Kyrie didnt have as much value because he had already said he wanted out and it became public. once that happens, the maximum value has been skewed.
b) Lilliard is attached to the community there and made it very clear he wanted to be there provided they were moving in the right direction. that further deflates the value. why trade a happy player for one disgruntled, especially since there is very little distance between them...which has moreso been proven this year with Kyrie's hot start and Dame's hot finish.
c) once it became more obvious the Blazers werent serious about that deal, McCollum's name (along with Blazers 2019 1st rounder) came up heavy but some say the Blazers werent keen a pairing of Irving/Lilliard.
I dont know why yall think Kyrie had MAXIMUM value when they basically had to get rid of him before training camp, in fact Kyrie was pissed they said that the information got out.

Dame would have mos def signed off on a trade to Cleveland. He was one of the first guys going on about "why would anyone want to leave Lebron" would have interesting if that woulda happened...bet the Cavs wouldn't miss a beat.
And 2 they didn't have trade Kyrie. He's got a contract and his teammates loved him they coulda worked that out. Still baffled one of the most baffling trades ever. Only way they save face is if that nets pick becomes a superstar...or they turn it into one.
