they arent a bad team... its a better team than what kobe had, but he is also a more willing passer. love is an all-star. one of the best rebounders in the league and 20 ppg scorer. he will make a big difference for them.

idk if they make the finals though. the raptors are really good on both sides of the ball. it can come down to if derozen is ready to play at a superstar level in the playoffs

The Raptors won't do shyt for several reasons:

- Lowry's game isn't built for the playoffs.

- Rotations shrink in the playoffs, their bench won't be playing against other benches the same way they do now.

- Demar doesn't go to the line as much in the playoffs.

- They aren't traditionally a good road team. They have one of the best home courts in the NBA but play like trash on the road in the playoffs typically.

- They can't guard the the players they will need to have an answer for: LeBron, Giannis, Simmons/Embiid, Kyrie or Wall when healthy.

-I disagree with Lowry's game not being built for the playoffs. Even with his elbow injury he was their best player in the 2016 playoffs as well as 2014. He was hurt in 2017 and 2015. This year he's not playing as many minutes and won't be worn down come playoff time like previous years.

-People keep mentioning that benches shrink but the key thing about having a huge rotation is that it allows you to have more pieces to play with for adjustments. In the Indiana Series from 2016 they actually benched Derozan and played Norm Powell and won a game. That was game 2. There's not many teams who can bench their 1st or 2nd best player for a 4th quarter and win a playoff game......That speaks to what it means to have depth and a bench that allow you to make adjustments and try out different lineups against different teams.

Adjustments are what led the warriors to discovering the death lineup, going small against Cleveland in the 2015.....even playing David Lee off the bench when they didn't play him all year. Towards the end of the 2015 Finals Bogut rarely played. With playoffs being so much about adjustments they'll have an answer for nearly everyone in the East.

-Demar is a much better player these days.

-They do play well on the road because they always lose game 1 (which has been at home for everyone except Cleveland) and have had to win on the road to regain home court.

-I agree with this. The fact they can't guard players they need to have an answer for is a problem. That's the only thing that causes me to have doubts about this Raptor team. The playoffs are about having the best player on the floor. In a series against the Cavs, Wizards, Sixers, Celtics and Bucks they won't have the best player on the floor. I do think there's ways to overcome that however.

@CarltonJunior

Also I'll add one more thing about Lowry. They've lessened their dependance on him as a scorer and playmaker. He no longer has to be the team's best player every night in order for them to win. In some ways he is probably one of the biggest overachievers we've ever seen for his skill and talent level. He was carrying an absurd load. This team is A LOT harder to defend than in previous years where you'd see Lowry and Derozan ISOs the entire game. Everyone is involved these days, the ball doesn't stick, and they shoot the 3 (you even have to be prepared for JV shooting the 3. He's like 21/55 this year from 3 point range). VanVleet often closes 4th quarters with Lowry and he's often the primary playmaker with Lowry playing off the ball.

This team is for real. They'll be able to score in the playoffs unlike previous years, it's really a matter if they'll be able to defend.
