Then you're willing to piss away whatever value Vucci has left. That's not a good idea. What would make it worse is that if Orlando did what you suggested, they'd just keep Vucci, but play him and never give Bamba time and use the excuse they use for Isaac. It's not like we're not seeing how they already handle raw rookies.

Breh, if you're saying Gordon is a 4 and Isaac is a 3, what exactly is the objection to them potentially working together? Having them both would give the coach flexibility to adjust his matchups, and I disagree Gordon can guard some threes.

Fam, you said this about the Bucks and Sanders/Embiid, drafting for need is exactly how you end up passing on Embiid for Parker, had they taken BPA they'd have the two best players under 25 on the same team, but they didn't need a generational C I guess. Knowing what we know about Saric, there's also a chance he ends up starting next to Gordon, and also would have freed up the Magic to draft Dennis Smith or Mitchell since the wouldn't have Payton and would have needed a PG in the 2017 draft.

There's a philosophy that teams carry that you refuse to accept. There are teams who go after the guy who wants to join them the most. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I'm saying teams do different shyt. Jabari Parker made that decision easy for Milwaukee. Add to that Embiid's injury history and the money they gave Sanders and it was an easy decision for Milwaukee. You can't comprehend that idea because 1. You love Embiid so much. 2. You're using hindsight. 3. You love Embiid so much. It wasn't nearly as universal as the world you're making it out to be.

All hindsight. What we knew THEN though was that Saric and his pops were a pain in the ass to deal with and was gonna stay away for a while. That team probably still doesn't trust Euros who do that just off the Fran Vazquez debacle. Philly could afford to gamble and wait because that's all they were doing. Orlando's owner truth be told doesn't even wanna do the rebuild because he's up in age and doesn't wanna start all the way over. That's part of why he green lights all these win now signings. A rebuilding team doesn't trade for Ibaka. A rebuilding team has more patience with Oladipo. A rebuilding team isn't doing shyt like giving Channing Frye $32 mil or signing Biyombo or even giving Ben Gordon a 2 year deal. Orlando is bumbling around because they're not fully committing one way or another.

If they don't draft Payton in 2014, for all you know they draft Mudiay in 2015 instead of Hezonja and wind up in this same predicament.

This goes beyond Hennigan though. Orlando's been out of the playoffs for a while now. This goes up to DeVos. Their philosophy on shyt is just bugged and won't change til they make firm, tough decisions and actually build a team. All they have are players. Talented players with no real direction.



You and I haven't discussed basketball outside of the draft until Rubio's name came up :manny: You do have a motive and post about him when he plays well, we are the yin and yang breh.

I talk here plenty about almost everyone to almost everyone. When I talked to @Brozay about Rubio and Utah about this same shyt, was there a motive there too or were we just talking hoops? I'd talk about him too when he struggles. It's no big deal to me. It never has been. Especially now, I don't have anything invested in his success or failure. The problem is that you and others think I do and it's bullshyt, thus why I try to avoid Rubio discussion (even when he's playing well). I just don't prefer to argue with brick walls about shyt.

Covington has played mostly SF this year, he played the 4 almost exclusively 3 years ago though, the point is that when you have 6'8+ forwards you can get away with playing them together now because the PF position is changing into a spot where Tweeners are now coveted. They have 3 guys who are all positionless in the sense that none of them are traditional PFs, yet all 3 of them can guard a traditional PF if need be. An Isaac/Gordon pairing makes a lot of sense with the direction the league is heading, it's all about versatility.

I never disagreed with an Gordon /Isaac pairing though.

Going slightly off-tangent, I think the NBA and those who cover confuse the hell out of what positionless basketball is supposed to imply. They want VERSATILE players who can play multiple positions if need be. Positionless just means "yeah I got two guys who play the same position but Imma try to make it work cuz I can't find a player worth a damn that fills a need I have." Nothing wrong with versatility in any sport. "Positionless basketball" is just an excuse to not optimize your talent.

Yall have a weird roster, you don't have any real standout young players aside from Fox, so basically anyone you draft at 6 would be an improvement. I like Carter, but I just can't see Vlade taking yet another big, and there's always the chance Vivek steps in and asks him to draft Trae Young :scust:

I think Porter there would be the most likely pick for them, they can sell fans on the idea that he was going to be the number 1 pick before the injury.

Without overlapping prospects that makes the most sense, they need a 3.

Their major issue going forward is going to be perimeter defense
