The NBA is contradictory as fukk.....How they allow some teams to establish "Physical Play", but then turn around and shyt on the next team for

trying to play physical?.......I guess there's an "art" to it.Every team can't pull it off

Maybe it's based on reputation or perception? Like the Pistons when they are good are always perceived as tough e.g. the Bad Boy Pistons and 2004 Pistons
so the refs allow them to play physical while teams that are considered to be more finesse can't get away with it? I have no idea.

Even if this were the case, it could also be whichever team plays more physical in the beginning will get away with physical calls in the end. The refs can't call every single foul or simple touch or the game will come to a stand still.

Yeah.Like I said, seems like a contradiction of the rules to me.Pistons come to mind....So does Memphis during the Gasol/Tony Allen/ZBO era.

Once a team or player establishes a reputation as a good defender the refs let them get away with more physicality
