I really don't get what people want the NBA to do as far as the mandates go in NYC and SF. Should players get paid for games they (potentially) don't play? The NBA can't control what other cities mandate. I'm not even talking from an agenda either, the uproar just confusing to me in that thread about NBA taking away game checks.

Anyone that does futures on the NBA: throw a lil' something-something on Embiid winning DPOY. It's currently at +1200. He's already kickstarted a narrative for himself, and with no Ben, there's nobody else standing in his way to steal votes off him on the team. Rudy will suffer from voter fatigue; Giannis' workload will be managed during the season; same goes for AD; Ben's status remains up in the air.

You should still be able to hedge when the candidates dwindle down to a few as well.

Neither can the players.

But reading that article about MPJ really scared me as far as how much control the NBA is still voluntarily trying to exert over players who are not vaccinated (even in cities without mandate). They are saying they are not allowed to leave their house except for training. What?? :mindblown:

Now they are trying to tell players what they can and cannot do in their personal life, acting like the player's whole life is under bubble conditions during a lockdown. Mindblowingly alarming. How people are defending this is beyond me.

I may have to start rooting for the Nuggets this season. :snoop:

I mean the NFL has strict restrictions for the unvaccinated as well. At the end of the day it's a business, the player's association didn't want to mandate the vaccine league wide so the league has to make rules for the vaccinated and unvaccinated.
