I and every other Raptor fan wanted Suggs but i been warming up since camp started and im close to being ready to say i was wrong...He looks legit, dont wanna make too much of a single pre season game but even if his offense stinks his defense is already there, hes already a plus defender as rookie thats hard to do...his passing, his court vision,he has those intangibles.

He has stage presence...
Yeah I look at prospects like this…you got teachables (shooting, finishing and dribbling etc.) and unteachables (heart, clutchness, court vision, physical attributes, motor, work ethic, killer instinct etc.). A lot of players have one or the other but some have both and those that do tend to be stars at the least and franchise players at their best (which is usually a result of when they have a lot of both). The thing is, you rarely see players develop unteachables (and some can’t be developed like size/athleticism) whereas on the flip side it’s a lot easier to teach any player the teachables. With a guy like Barnes he is strong in virtually every unteachable and has the work ethic to develop the teachables. This puts him on track to becoming a real fukking problem one day.

On the flip side you got a guy like Evan Mobley who has lots of the teachables and will continue to improve upon them but there are some big questions around his unteachables (heart, stage presence, killer instinct etc.) which is why I think he never reaches the potential his skills would indicate he should have.

Suggs is gonna be an all star. Can’t see the same for Mr Barnes..

Scottie is a difference maker. I hope he ends up proving dudes wrong.

There's certainly a lot of overlapping attributes on this Raptors squad, that'll no doubt be beneficial in developing chemistry and on defense, but I don't know about in the long term. It almost seems inevitable that Siakam will eventually be moved on.

Siakam will be moved when a big fish becomes available...the hope is if he bounces back to all star status it will take less extras to get that deal done...
