Bagley was supposed to be a high motor play hard guy it was one of his go to traits.
also don’t the kings have more than enough centers Len jones Holmes Thompson seems like they are lacking wings hopefully they can move bagley for a wing
From what I can gather he looks like he’s the type of player that needs the ball or needs be involved with the play, like he's used to being the primary ball handler and running up the court with the ball(Kings actually have plenty of those, some many that's another log jam).
He also stays on the perimeter a lot and doesnt attempt to cut, set screens or move around at all. When he gets into one position, he just stays there. Like he's a proven sniper from 3(maybe he is, but I have to review some older tape). He rarely attempts to cut or go in for a rebound unless he was already under the basket. There's just no hustle on his part, he's playing like it's practice.
Also I noticed with spacing, he was lining way to close to other people on team, constantly through the night. It was strange seeing the lack of spacing on the strong side, of the half court setting.
Now on to defense, he can't stay in front of anyone, nor does he try to put his hand up or put his body on the line(idk if that's who is or he's just preserving himself because of his history with injuries). He can barely rebound for his size. I'm surprised Toronto didnt make him pay, by keep targeting him.
I can't tell whether this is just who he is, or he's just being extremely cautious because this is contract year and he's being extremely careful about not getting hurt.
All in all, he's not playing like the #2 overall pick, he may just turn out to be a Jabari Parker 2.0. Someone that just never quite reaches their projected potential. I used to think he had the mamba mentality in him, from reading about how he came up and trained, but after really watching him. It looks like there's a reason why he was kicked out the rotation.
Imagine seeing the lack of urgency in practice as a coach. You can't play someone like that big minutes.
