To set up for 2 doubleheaders over the weekend.
Huh? You can still have 2 doubleheaders either way. Each team plays every other day. Thursday would be game 3 of the warriors/memphis and celtics/bucks then game 4s on saturday
It’s because they had to move the start date of BOS/MIL & MEM/GS up due to no Game 7s in the 1st round.
Had any of their series went 7, today would’ve been G1 and Thursday would’ve been G2.

But if these series go the distance, it sets up for 3 game 7’s on Sunday the 15th. Like I told you already, they build these schedules to maximize the weekends.
If they end sooner, they’ll start the CF’s that day or one of them anyway.
