I try to hoop at least twice a week. I used to do it 5 days a week and as a teen I did it everyday of the week.

The one thing I've really noticed lately is the lack of passing I.Q on the hoop court. Most cats aren't interested in passing and those that do aren't very good at it.

I always took pride in being a willing and exceptional passer which makes people love to hoop with me, it also makes your teammates like to give you the ball because they know they'll get it back.

Half the people don't even want the buckets either . I was at the park behind my old house in Florida one day in the summer (side note, never play pickup on a blacktop in the summer in Florida outdoors) and a guy crossed over the other guy, and instead of taking the ball to the rack, tried to cross over another guy on the other team. Naturally he shot a long fadeaway and missed badly

For the past 5 years at every pickup game I've been too, there is always a dude who you can tell just got out of the penitentiary, or at least did time.

You can tell because they take it serious as shyt.

Which is why I stopped hooping in the hood. I want to win every game but them nikkas you talking bout act like rent money be on the line.

I don't know where you guys get that everyone is just going out there chucking from. I hoop all over my city and while some people play selfishly, there's just as many that don't. Everyone plays their own game, usually dictated by their body type.

I was a swingman in organized ball so that's pretty much how I play now, mostly a 3 and D guy because I'm really lanky with long arms and legs. Every now and then I'll play point if we have no guards.

Play and defense and move the basketball you win simple as that. Sadly sometimes the other 4 nikkaz on your team doesn't understand and that really be pissin me off when I play

I rarely see anyone post up anymore or see someone call for the ball in the paint. I literally saw a 6'3 dude post up a 5'7 or 5'8 chinaman at the 3pt line then shoot a fadeaway and miss

its so bad with IQ that when I do play with a couple of guys who know how to pass, I'm taken aback and either fumble or drop perfectly placed passes

with most nikkas, you're setting a screen or cutting... they don't see you, they wave you off
