Random Thought: So Many Things Would Be Obtainable If We Were Supportive

I posted on a site last night asking about tips for moving to Germany. A girl responded, lightly discouraging me because of the "hassle", while a guy responded to me in a rude manner, undermining me. Simply I told him: "if your intentions are to be a prick, then why even open your mouth, let alone waste the energy."

But, that brought me back to this forum, considering that majority of the posters here are black and preach "black excellence" yet we discourage each other on a daily basis.

An example being, yesterday when a poster talked about traveling alone everyone was calling the dude a 'loser' and all kinds of other things.

Ideally if you believe in the welfare of African Americans then you should encourage one another to expand their horizons.

On a side note: has anyone ever discouraged you from pursuing dreams or goals? If so then you need to realize that only you can tell yourself 'no'.

You have to show people by action, once they see your success many will follow. Don't waste energy on mindless negativity, it will just throw you off of your game

Although I agree with the premise i've become conditioned to not expect anyone to be supportive. People dont believe until you've already done it. If anything I'm cautious of people supporting me because that usually comes with strings attached.
