I knew two girls growing up who had guys step in and become step fathers dating their moms for years before getting married. It worked for them. They're happy blended families now.

But I know those two would be hurt if those dudes broke up with their moms after years and then acted like they were strangers.

I clearly said being with a woman for multiple years...like 5 odd years.

This means living together, going to events together, being in the kid's life, going on vacations and shyt etc.

If you been doing this from 2016 to 2021, yes nikka you look a bit sus to never speak to the kid again.
