you know how outfielders dont jump to try to catch a flyball when its crushed 450 feet to dead center and sky high ? its the same shyt. effort or not ball is not catchable. its silly to ask for extra effort there from an old WR who knows when a ball can be caught and when it cant.
most Niner fans agree that we havent seem dogging it this season, at all. of course, he wasnt running routes that often, but when he was he was putting in effort.
My key point the whole time is that even if he can't get to it. Him simply jumping could've at least distracted Reed, blocked his view, or took Reed out of position as Reed would have to then decide if the ball was uncatchable or if he should stay in his position and go for the pick. That's my biggest beef with the play.
Those of y'all defending Moss are the ones attaching all kinds of extra shyt on to it. As if us saying that we would've liked to see Moss at least make an attempt means he's lazy or a malcontent or anything like that. Moss came back and had a couple big plays in the second half.

the ball was so high I dont think it would make any difference. but OK, at least this point has *some* merit to it I guess.
still, you gotta understand that ball is rifled like crazy and theres a good chance there was a route mixup on the play...you factor all those things in and I think this play got magnified for no reason at all...
and trust me, Ive seen Moss REALLY dog it up in Oakland
