NEW ERA
Jerry Rice is forever the most overrated mufukka to ever play the game. He had his prime seasons in an offense that REVOLUTIONIZED THE NFL. Rice didn't revolutionize the NFL, Bill Walsh did. The WCO was something new that nobody knew how to defend. Rice benefitted from that so much.

Moss? He changed the game on his own. He was the first nikka I ever saw where any QB could just throw it up and he could get it. Moss could play in any offense. We never saw Rice outside of a WCO because he wouldn't have been as effective without the West Coast Offense.

Put Moss on those 49ers with Bill Walsh...:lawd:..nikka would have had multiple 2,000 yard seasons.

Now put Rice on those Vikings teams with Jeff George throwing to him...you think he puts up the same numbers?? :comeon:

Question is, pound for pound, one game...who do you want? Prime Moss or Prime Rice? The answer to anyone who knows what the fukk they are talking about should be Randall Gene Moss.

:ohhh::ehh:

Randy would have been as effective in Walsh's offense. The WCO ain't about specific plays it's a philosophy. You run horizontal routes rather than vertical routes. Bill wanted to get at least 3.5 yards per play and took the safest route getting there aka slants etc. Jerry would get the ball short and do a lot of the work from there. Jerry's route running skills would've worked in ANY offense period. NE and the Vikes basically just told Randy to run fast then threw an occassional screen.

If I want to complete a hail mary I'd pick Randy. Anything else? You'd be retarded not to pick Jerry.

Moss would have been better in a WCO than Rice. He's bigger and faster. He can play in any offense.

WCO made Rice. Moss made the Minny and NE offenses what they were.

Since we are playing the hypothetical game, one should guess that Jerry Rice would not even be Cris Carter status, probably unable to play at the level of a Jake Reid, "if" he was in Minnesota. This whole let's place one player here and the other there is silly and cannot thoroughly be supported. :stopitslime:

There's nothing hypothetical abotu the fact that Rice played his entire career in one offense, an offense that revolutionized the NFL and that nobody knew how to defend. They didn't know how to defend it because of Jerry Rice. They didn't know how to defend it because it was a style they had never seen before.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Randy moss is way more talented than Jerry Rice.

Rice had Young and Montana throwing him the ball :stopitslime:

LeBron is way more talented than Jordan

but there's this whole mental aspect that falls short.. rice was a killer.. up 40, down 40, 3 people on him, he was a top receiver every single year he ever played the game. period. so gannon was a top 50 qb?? nope.. still went over 1000 yards and went to an afc championship then a super bowl. if it was all qb, then where are the other 49er legends on the top list?? surely someone else would be up there right? somewhere? nope

randy was known for taking plays off. he admitted he half assed it. so how are you the best? maybe faster. maybe bigger. but total package, ask me who would i want on my team from day 1 rookie to the day they retired, i'm taking jerry every time.

some athletes... like a ray lewis as well. can take a lot less natural talent, and use their brain and practice and film session and hard fukking work ethic and push themselves past dudes fooling around cause it comes easy

and whoever said jerry wouldn't last in this era.. where db's can't breathe on you.. when he was playing against deion, atwater, fukkin LT, and a bunch of other straight goons who could rip your head off, dance on the field and not stress a penalty for either one

People need to learn to differentiate what the topic is.

Who is the greatest receiver? That's the question. Not who had the greatest career. Rice had the best career but that doesn't make him the better receiver.

randy was a athletic freak but jerry rice might be the best football player to ever play regardless of position

You really ain't making no sense now.

WCO made Jerry Rice?
Bigger and Faster = better?
Jerry Rice, one of the best route runners in history, couldn't play in any offense?

Jerry gave Deion fits, but you tryna say an offense made that man who he is?

Moss didn't make them offenses by himself Cris Carter and Robert Smith (who retired WAY too early) was in on that shyt too. Welker kept the chains moving in NE a lot more than Randy did and they didn't even really miss a beat as an offense since he left.

ALSO, John Taylor played in the same exact offense....so did Dwight Clark....as a matter of fact a whole bunch of people did before Jerry. Where they numbers at?

you do know this is a ridiculous comparison?

I think Rice is better than MAUCE, but using their times in Oakland as a factor is absurd.
