Hard to rank them. I played the fukk out of the first 4, but I always preferred Beans on Posse Cuts.

His discography and the State Property group albums just represent so much unrealized/untapped potential for me.

I feel that “the B. coming” is probably his most focused and cohesive album, and as much as I played it front to back, theres was just something dead about it. It sounded like he ain’t even want to be in the studio, outside of some songs like “Feel it in the Air” and “bread and butter”. It’s not the only ROC project that sounded like that around the label breakup. I’ll try to play it again this week, I’m not sure why it’s so much harder to listen to now.

I normally jump straight into “The Reason” if I feel like hearing beans. “Nothing like it” is one of my favorite song ever, but a lot of that album got fukked over on the production side (some of “The Truth” too”). Rocafella should have filed a “you cannot come within 31 miles of an active studio session” restraining order on Rick Rock over some of those bullshyt ass beats lol. I wish JB, Kanye, and Bink took over and handled the entire project. I spend most of my time playing that album just running back to track number 1.

At the end of the day I’d probably just recommend some singles, features, Jadakiss tracks, “The B.Coming”, and “The Reason” if someone told me they wanted to hear Beans for the first time.

I'd like to make an argument for The Reason being his best LP . Over The Truth and B. Coming

The Reason's lead off Track is a Top 10 intro IMO. Up thete with with the Stillmatic intro and the greatest intro of all time which is Jay-Z's Dynasty intro.
The production is great also and has solid features.
Album full of great songs.
"I don't do much"
It's a Man's World, The Daz feature, he does arguably get washed by Jay on "Think its A Game".(not a bad thing) The EPMD homage with Bleek is dope.
What Your Life Like pt 2 is epic with sample of Harlem Boys Choir also Is a stand out great song.
