I wonder what everybody's Top 10 Weeknd tracks are :sas1:

  1. The Party & The After Party
  2. Kiss Land
  3. Gone
  4. The Birds pt 2.
  5. Love in the Sky
  6. Enemy
  7. King of the Fall
  8. Rolling Stone
  9. Often
  10. Coming Down
shyt was truly harder than what it looks narrowing down this list out of the litany of classics, but I did it :sas1: - just looking at my list, two of the songs in my top 10 aren't even on official release... you can literally make a nice little classic EP out of the songs that he released himself that aren't on albums "Enemy", "King of the Fall", "Drunk in love remix", "Trust Issues" (not even including the leaked shyt)... You can then stretch this into another classic album by including songs where he did features and made you forget about the other artist :wow:....

Nothing to back this up?

The man literally ushered in a whole new wave of modern R&B (dark, trippy, ambient sound) that HE made popular and blew up off.

He didn't follow any traditional formula and he made his sound POPular music. How many artist in this generation can say that?

Not only that, he can make traditional R&B, his own modern R&B, nikka has better bars than most rappers in this era and he can do Hip Hop/R&B.

House of Balloons became a template that countless singers/rappers tried to follow and replicate the sound/aesthetic. To say The Weeknd is one of the greatest artist of THIS generation is not that far fetched. Who would you be ranking above him in the last decade as influential/impactful artist?

Nothing to back this up? How about trying to jack Michael Jackson's style. I was on board with breh during the first 3 mixtape run, the gimmick/look they laid out for him then was dope, much better than when he tried to come out earlier as the noise (sp?). Artist like Esthero was already on that dark shyt prior (funny how Abel worked with the same producer to launch the weeknd shyt:sas2:).

The weeknd is alright but he has flamed out, starting from a cat with potential to really do damage with the music to now sounding watered down/generic.

Truth be told Miguel and Luke James >>>>
