I weigh them the same…but I think it doesn’t seem as so to some because

1. they were in different points in their careers than dirk was when he won…it’d be like if they underperformed in their finals and lost…then finally got back 4 or 5 seasons later and got over the hill…dirk had the ‘06 finals lost and the first round upset to the We Believe Warriors during his MVP year on his jacket…made 2011 feel like a redemptive validation of his career…Giannis and Jokic got theirs kinda on the first go-round

2. They beat the Heatles Superteam in the Finals…scrappy underdog narratives are undefeated when it comes to putting extras on accomplishments
Facts.

They beat the 2x-defending champs, young KD/Harden/Russ and then The Heatles.

That run was next level considering the first team had already won rings, the second team played in the Finals the next year and the last team WON the finals the next year.

Dirk was so damn consistent and still a tad underrated.

04 pistons beat one of the most dominant teams ever

Same for 2011 Mavs, Lebron in the NBA finals was a given for like 10 years.

No way Raptors win that chip if KD played, every other team on the list should’ve won on paper.

Definitely a pistons mavs toss up
