OKC reminds me of the 2015 Warriors

67-win team, Wardell was 26, Klay and Dray were 23/24
Dominant regular season, shaky playoff run, little bit of injury luck in the Finals. Ppl weren't too high on them as an all time title team immediately after, and ended up being their least remembered title, but laid the foundation for the next 5 years.

Question is what type of focus will the Thunder have next season, and which West team can play the role of spoilers.

They were better the next season until Brow and then LeBron (a month later) got injured. :francis:
My point exactly.

:francis:

If that 2020 Lakers squad weren't afford the luxury of staying in one place, I have no doubt in my mind they would've had to deal with some type of injuries, most probably one to AD and it affecting his performance. I definitely don't agree with all the asterisk talk surrounding that chip, but at the same time I wouldn't compare it to a regular playoff setting and the championship teams that won playing in those conditions.

It's the reason why I can't rank them as the best champ of the '20s, even despite how dominant they were.

Nah, injuries are part of the game, and teams catch or lose breaks here and there during course of season and playoffs

The star player ,on the eventual champs, looked like he was finished during the ECF

We're actually in agreement

i'm just acknowledging that the immediate reaction from naysayers last night is "thunder won bc Hali got hurt" or "IND was a weak team"

to which my response is, (1) all these champs benefited from injuries and (2) let's compare the level of competition they each faced
