Don't Sweat the Technique is a no skip, classic jazzy hip-hop album, that a lot of people ain't really listen 2....Very Underrated

Here's my order:
1. Paid in Full - Only 7 songs, but five of them are undisputed hip-hop classics. The other two are bangers - although the beat for Move the Crowd is crazy outdated. Almost everything he says on this album has been quoted. He may have become more lyrically advanced on later albums, but it doesn't really matter.
2. Let The Rhythm Hit Em - This album is sorely underrated. The stretch of songs through Mahogany is just banger after banger. It does end a little weak IMO with Keep Em Eager to LIsten and Set Em Straight.
3. (Tie) Follow The Leader - This album has what may be my favorite Eric & Ra song (Microphone Fiend) - the flow he is using is so unorthodox and the words just fit together in this amazing way. Half the album is amazing (Title Track through Put Your Hands Together) but the second half is a bit of a let down to me. The songs are still good - the rhymes are there - but the production just isn't on that same level.
3. (Tie) Don't Sweat The Technique - I'm still new to this album - so I need more time to digest. It could be better than FollOw The Leader and it could be 4th.

So far Paid in Full is beating FTL 8 to 5 (for first place).

I think it's in order

1.paid in full
2.follow the leader
3.let the rhythm hit'em
4.dont sweat the technique

This would be the most accurate but it could go either way between Follow The Leader and Let The Rhythem Hit em. SMH @ Rakim not being able to make quality whole albums without Eric B's name on the front cover.

The best run in Hip Hop History to me.

1. Follow The Leader is my favorite album of all time. It put Ra ahead LL as my favorite rapper. The production is highly slept on the album as well plus I enjoy the DJ cuts. This album has a weird magical vibe to it every time I listen to it. Ra was Raw on this. I enjoy the second half especially the way it starts with Put Ya Hands Together. Ra rips the beat to shreds.

2. Let The Rhythm Hit Em is their best album. Ra was at the height of his rhyming prowess. Closet thing to EMCEE perfection on this album. Also the production is flawless with Paul C, Extra P and Ra. Set Em Straight is how you end an album.

3. Paid In Full is their most influential and recognized album with all the Hip Hop hits. As The Rhyme Goes On is my FAV joint though because it is the precursor to Follow The Leader

4. Don't Sweat Technique only problem is the sequencing. Who's dumb azz idea was it to put What's On Your Mind as the lead of a Eric B and Rakim album.:snoop: Should of started with the title cut and ended with Know The Ledge. Dope, underrated album nonetheless. It was their most versatile album. Rakim did streamline his lyrics somewhat on this album though. A lot of rappers were during this time period.

:myman:
It's not a commonly held opinion (it's so easy to just say Paid in Full is the best) but this is exactly how I feel. The production on that album was just :ohlawd:
And he was at his peak as an emcee :whew:
