Volume 3 is the best out of the 3. He was so sharp lyrically on this album, production was fire too.

to me personally,

Vol 2
Vol 1
Vol 3

but they are all fire and I have no problem with anyone ranking them in whatever order.

I wasnt really listening to Jay that much post-Dynasty....so I kinda stick with that era before....Blueprint and Black Album are undeniable....but I couldnt get into American Gangster which I see most rank very highly here.

where yall ranking WTT and BoBW 1 & 2?

going back and listening to BoBW2 it wasnt that bad at all. there are definite reasons why that album was forgettable, they basically abandoned it right before/after the release. a lot of people didnt even know they made this album.

its a classic & its his highest selling album

:snoop: u must have mixed up or confused his Vol albums
Stfu tone-deaf retard. Vol 2 is easily one of Jay's worst, right down there with Blueprint 3 and Magna Crappa. Timbo and Swizz swung and missed

Yeah cocaine is a helluva drug cuz you gotta be geeked the fukk out on that white to EVER think Vol 2 is a classic lmao. Both Vol 1 and 3 shyt on it and those are hardly flawless albums either.

And I don't give a fukk if it moved as many units as the last Avengers movie sold tickets, that shyt is TRASH that aged about as well as dog shyt. That's the album Jay sold the fukk out on. Most of the beats are trash. Swizz beats were awful - Money Cash Hoes might be the worst beat of all time. Beat sounds like a cat running across a CASIO over and over again. That shyt with Jermaine Dupri is trash. It's Alright would be better if it didn't have a retarded space laser in the beat. The joint with Kid Capri was flipped much better on Cormega's Fallen Soldiers. I'm good on ever hearing Hard Knock Life, Jigga What and Can I Get A... ever again - those songs are the definition of played out. Song with Foxy WAS GARBAGE.

Only songs I really fukk with are the Bleek intro, A Week Ago and Reservoir Dogs. Now that I think about it, that shyt isn't even a 2/5. That shyt is a 1/5. Thanks for reminding me.

Reasonable Doubt is a classic, lol, not no fukkin' Vol 2.

this is why I never get into these album ranking conversations because my tastes are totally different from 90% of the people out here. if I aint feeling the production I cant rank shyt that high.

Vol 2 is a classic to me. I played that shyt soooooo much when it came out. its my most listened to album by Jay, followed by RD and Vol 1. I felt Vol 2. put him on his way because although I liked Vol 1, it had some really bad missteps and the singles fukked up the perception of the album. Vol 2 was cohesive and the singles were good but the non-singles were very strong. the title track is one of the dopest sampled hip hop song of all time. you couldve put anyone on that track and it wouldve been a hit.

Dynasty is one of my favorites by him also. Criminally underrated IMO. the features on that album did their thing, especially Beanie.

RD is his only undeniable classic and Vol 2 is my personal favorite because of the time in my life where I was at. then give me Blueprint and Black Album. rest of them shyts only have a few tracks I can pick out from each that I fukk with.

Kingdom Come wasnt that bad. I couldnt fukk with 4:44

:salute:good post

damn.... i didn’t think i would have to use this back 2 back

if Jay wouldve stopped making albums after Vol 2. I guarantee that shyt would be hailed as a classic. if you are comparing it to all his other albums it may not rank that high because it may not have aged well but I guarantee you whatever this nikka talmbout wasnt the sentiment when that album was released. if it was so bad, why did so many people buy it? I dont think people realized just how big of a deal it was back then to go double and triple platinum. because for the time period it came out in, nothing was fukking with it.

Hard Knock Life is a classic single.
If I Should Die - Ranjahz killed that shyt (thought they would blow after that)
nikka What - he never wanted Jaz to outshine him but he let him get a lil taste on that record
Money Cash Hoes - Prime X
(it was all good just ) A Week Ago - Short Dog....need I say more?
Coming of Age - some of Memph best work
Can I Get A - this was originally Ja's song, but Jay knew a hit when he heard it and convinced Irv to let him have it and keep Ja on as a feature
Reservoir Dogs - CLASSIC posse cut
Its Like That - the legendary Kid Capri
Its Alright - a great track from Streets Is Watching Soundtrack
then blessed those who purchased with the bonus track Money Aint A Thang which shows the hitmaking ability of JD

only songs I didnt fukk with was Paper Chase...and maybe Ride or Die

I can say it may not have aged well and I have never been a fan of Swizz, but in its time that album was crazy

Yeah but I'm also a Jay fan. I fukk with some of his other albums, but not that one :yeshrug:

how old are you? did you rock with it when it came out or did you go back and listen to it? like I said, its one of those albums that may not have aged well but it was a moment album. if someone has recently been introduced to Jay and go thru his discog, I can see why this wouldnt be a favorite. Swizz was hot back then but his beats age terribly. I was never a fan of Swizz like that anyway...and some of the pop joints didnt age well either.
