Why do you think that?

Mike was at his absolute apex in during the first 3peat. While he was obviously still amazing during the 2nd one he wasn't as dominant as he had been before yet the team was even more dominant. And it's not like there was a major talent upgrade around him.

I agree that Mike might've been slight better the first time around, but Scottie was better on the second team and the addition of Rodman I think puts it over the top. But really it's splitting hairs :manny:

true, but I meant more in the context of the Bulls, not the league

It's all related. Even if you wanna say it's splitting hairs the 2nd iteration of the Bulls was way more dominant than the first. The 96-98 Bulls could have realistically won 70 games three straight seasons if Pip doesn't get hurt. Meanwhile they only came close to 70 once the first go round. That's why people are so quick to rank them like they do but it's pretty clear that competition had more to do with that then the team itself. The 91-93 Bulls would've won 70+ games ever year from 96-98 and probably swept through the playoffs a couple times.
