Need my drums man lol these follow trend ass nikkas

its ok to have a couple joints like that...but entire EP's and albums? nah. this couldve just been an acapella album. he spittin rhyme of the year candidates. a lot of these loops are lazy and basic and not all of them are fire...so on the weaker ones beats wouldve brought out the samples more.

Beats are ill, perfect fit, infact this is what Ransom has been missing cause he's always been mad nice on the mic. A lot of people on here are out of touch with what people actually think (though they are entitled to their own opinion) but people are feeling this series is some of his best ever work. Nicholas Craven is nice, I've liked him before the Ransom hook up and I've just wanted to hear Ransom on dope production like this where the lyrics resonated, really high level work and will enhance his legacy when it's all said and done.

Ran always been a wordsmith. He might be rhyming at his peak right now though, after like damn near 20 years of killing shyt. Very dope project for him.

But I definitely get what cats are saying about the "no drum" thing. This is Hip Hop, it's never been cool to latch on to whatever other dudes are doing. A couple joints with no drums is cool, if you can chop something up nicely and get away with it, but a whole project that's modeled after what mad other people are already doing takes away from what this could've been. It's definitely lazy, there's no way around that. That sound gets redundant after awhile. Especially if you're running it track after track. During his mixtape heyday, Ran was killing a lot of ALC beats that were perfect for what he does. His lyrics are the star of this project, but with better production, who knows how crazy this would've been. He deserves better beats. His rhymes are mad top tier.

my mans said we outta touch. :mjlol:

like this album is going to catapult Ran into superstardom. Ran's lyrics saved this lazy project. Not even any backup rhythm such as a baseline or symbols, just straight loops. Craven been doing this too. Griselda does it a lot but even they dont run it in to the ground. dont get me wrong, some of those samples are nice, but I couldve just listened to ran rap acapella, wouldve been just as good imo. also if you dont want any drums there are producers like Apollo Brown, Dirty Diggs, etc...that do it better. and yeah, he would kill a new Alc joint. even a new joint with Statik.

again the loops are not bad but a lot of em could have gon to the next level with some killer drums, this album by supreme cerebral, called soul trained got the perfect mix between drum-less looped samples and traditional beats and works great,

an entire album with no drums just bores me after a few plays:yeshrug:

everyone calls themselves producers nowadays but some clearly are not and try to get over on the culture

yeah you do. these rhymes couldve been that much better over real production. there are PLENTY of good producers that will work with him. too many to name, but you can start with Spesh. I think him and Statik are going to do Proposal 2, he said they have been talking about it. He needs some of the production that Flee got. Flee is getting all the beats. Green Lantern did a good job on Grafh last joint. Ran is such a vivid lyricist....he needs someone really dope.

Damn the production is bothering you this much or you just don't like Craven's production? I agree he does love looping shyt but hell what producers don't nowadays especially with the drumless loops style of production that's in now. I actually really like this remix to Red Tops he did.

I'd actually like to hear Ran with V-Don production.
