The sample chosen for this insane beat ALONE make this track stand out...:wow: Then comes the lyrics and shyt just goes cosmic quickly! :ohlawd:
It's hard to maintain this level of lyrical integrity when all you see is wack rappers getting crazy views and deals, so SALUTE TO RANSOM!
Album gonna be copped for sure! :jawalrus:

I was heavy into Ransom around this period. I already had his project with A-Team but around 2007 he came out with a mixtape hosted by DJ Lust. In some of his later projects, there is a trilogy of songs where Ransom narrates a crime he committed and got caught. Second song is his life in jail, becomes and OG, get tested at the bench press by some youngins . Third song is is life as an OG after he gets out, he goes to a strip joint with his homie, pulls a chick for a private cabin dance but got set up by his homie and gets killed. The story telling is very good.
I dont remember the name of the tapes but I remember the songs you talking about. I still have these on my external and need to find them.

This album is okay.

As much as I fukk with Ran, he’s the type of artist where I really gotta fukk with the beats to get into the music. If I don’t fukk with the beat, I’m going to get bored quick. He can start sounding monotone & repetitive to me.

I don’t think the beats are bad, but they are kind of dull, and requires a certain type of emcee to carry them, and I don’t think Ran is that guy.

For me, Ran just isn’t the type of guy that can rap over a “meh “ beat and make a great song out of it, at least not this 2021 version of Ran.

A few samples already used I recognized
"Ransom The Destroyer", used by a New Rochelle group called Res Connected on "Shoot em down" produced by The P Brothers.

"The Red Webbing" uses the same sample has MOP "Blow The horns"

"A King's Ransom" uses same sample as Meyhem Lauren "100 mph" produced by Buckwild

I knew some of those sounded familiar. Dope. A lot of times I feel like I've heard Big Ghost samples before. I'm loving this Ran album though.

Glad Ran kinda finally getting his flowers after all this time. Breh been putting in work for so long. Made it through half the disc so far. Not liking it as much as the strictly Craven projects (or his older work) but still liking it. Those 1st 3 tracks were piffery.
