I don't think he can. He ill to us, but his shyt ain't selling let's be honest.

All the beats from well known producers he's been on are when someone else bringing him in for a feature.

He ain't getting a Primo or RZA beats off respect.

Maybe that's why he using scuffed drumless Craven beats. He buying the 10 song licenses for 100 off soundcloud?
To Cravens credit his production on the Directors Cut series was great & better than Havoc’s production on Flee Lord’s newest joint :yeshrug: Primo has produced joints for EVERYBODY. Surely he can get a beat or two. Not sure why anybody would be looking for a RZA beat in 2020 :lolbron:

can he afford them?:patrice::skip:

we love to hear it though:whoo:
Money's definitrly not as much of an issue as it used to be. Got a homie that bought a few Pete Rock beats for 1,000 bucks a pop. And he bought 3 from Alchemist for close to the same. And this is someone with zero name and clout. Bigger name producers these days sometimes sell beats for pretty cheap if you're willing to pay cash. If you have any type of name or momentum it's also not as hard as a lot of people think it is.

yes, he can. you have to remember, the way the game is now, its more for a nobody to get a beat than someone who is well respected. also, I aint gonna try and put nobody's business out here but some of those mentioned aint charging a lot, especially if you gonna do multiple tracks/album with them. its kinda a give and take. they will not charge a whole lot but they dont want to put their name on any ole bullshyt either. so they could charge a respected MC half of what some garbage mf is willing to pay. on top of that, dont think Ransom is broke. he said he was pretty comfortable in retirement and was doing his record exec thing.

Yeah and a couple years earlier Pete told him like 5k per beat. :heh: Didn’t wanna outright say no but clearly didn’t want to do it.

Not sure what happened in the few years between, but maybe he needed the money? :damn: I hope not. I want all the legends to be squared away financially.

unless you are wealthy...which we dont think Pete is...then you need that money everyday to keep coming for living expenses, especially if he is used to a standard of living. those publishing checks dont be coming like that, and as each year goes by they get less and less unless some of his old work gets licensed out somewhere and becomes a big hit...like a commercial or something. we dont know how much rap money some of these dudes got left over from heyday. Preem was a different level producer than Pete also when you start talking about the artists he produced.

but to answer your question about what changed...the amount of producers. literally a few thousand hip hop producers now and you can easily find someone with just as good of beats as these guys....maybe not consistent, but you can piece together the best from a few. the only real advantage to having shyt produced by these guys now is the name. we still out here looking at the name some of us as form of validation.

for example, eto, Mephux, godblessbeats, all did albums with Flee Lord in 2020 and they did just as good if not better job than Pete or Buck. Flee got those guys in there for name recognition....likewise with Havoc.

name rappers now are literally just picking beats off of youtube, IG, beatstars, etc....I wouldnt be surprised in 2021 if your homie is able to cop more beats from Pete for 750...even 500.

:mjcry: I know man. It’s crazy. I’m real happy there’s so many good producers out there. But I can imagine it’s tough on the older legends.

Alchemist said something on an interview with either he and Gibbs, Boldy, or Conway last year. He told the interviewer something like “I’m lucky I stayed yes working with the younger generation in the last ten years and lucky I have any kind of name. Because honestly there’s kids out there in their bedrooms making way better beats than me and a lot of of the other producers with bog names.”

Pete’s killing it though. Preem definitely worked with some bigger artists and I thought was out working Pete at one point, but Pete’s had a hell of a resurgence in the past 5 years. He’s been killing the beats recently and he’s working with dope artists.

For everyone wishing to hear Ran over someone besides Craven. He named these 4. And if you missed the Havoc and Alc beats so far with Ran, they’re under the tweet

honestly he just needs to join griselda, him and benny look like brothers anyway lol, WSG could executively produce, that white boy Craven ain't it, Ransom imo sounds better over up tempo beats like him and hitchcock used to rap over.

He still cool with Fabolous? Ransom, Loso and Banks could do a tape.

he's already linked up with TRUST. so, I am almost positive he has a Spesh-produced album/EP coming. Pretty sure he is working on stuff with Buckwild. out of the producers mentioned, Pete Rock is a definite.

This here.

I know for a fact that Pete and Preme are still charging mad paper for beats. And if you're indie, it's not easy to get more than a couple tracks from these guys without already having a relationship with them. Pete is known for not giving discounts, lol. ALC wants his paper too, but he'll work with someone if he's able to brand it for himself on the side. I don’t even think RZA is producing right now. He recently said he's been more focused on films. I can't see him stepping back to work with Ran.

This is why we see so many lesser-known "producers" popping up. They mostly just want their name out there, so the placement is worth more to them than the money, at the moment. So a lot of these guys are basically giving away beats to build their names.
