Where people are from doesn't matter in hip-hop? when did this phenom occur?

Last I checked its always mattered. Every rapper boasts and brags about where they from and how they made a name.

This transcended to other aspects in life. If you a baller and balling out of control in Iowa you need to leave Iowa and go to cities that are known for hoopers to show n prove.

This shyt is a sport breh; you need to seek out the competition. The competition is in certain cities. Its nice that anybody can be whoever they wanna be with social media from their bedroom; but reality will check people.
