If you immediately understand every obscure reference in rap music, then that's great. But myself and MILLIONS of others don't and I don't have the time to. And Jay Z released a book detailing the meaning behind his lyrics...so how is that any different? Are we not deserving of his music since he had to break it down for us?


On top of that, I like to see how other ppl interpret songs/lyrics. I'll egt on YouTube sometimes and just read comments and thoughts ppl have about songs.

I'm from the Caribbean, and I'm able to understand what American rappers say 99.99% of the time, even guys like Nas, and Ghost, who use a lot of 5% references that the average Trini wouldn't even know.
