Most pop music nowadays is substandard. That's why I mostly just listen to instrumental music. NPR is good for that if you still listen to the radio.

there's good spirited rap out there but the mere fact that those specific lyrics in the OP makes you cringe is a sign of you maturing and/or gaining racial pride as a black person (assuming your black)
