If your weak minded then sure. ANYTHING can have an effect on you

But for the millions of millions of young black men who listen to whatever music, including rap, that they like and DON’T commit crimes, abuse drugs & alcohol, or mistreat women welp…
Those millions of men probably come from structured backgrounds 🤷🏾‍♀

The older guys in my family were all listening to that stuff and graduating from
Undergrad and grad school when I was a kid. They also came from 2 parent homes and lived in the burbs 🤷🏾‍♀️

I dont know you, but maybe you had a support system. The difference is today, alot of these kids are raising themselves. I know folks that are in their late 30's like me that smoke with their kids, they be in the clubs more than their kids. Without a decent parent or parents, most of these are just influenced by what they see and hear.
Omg for real? That’s terrible, but explains a lot.

my parents were smart and told me this is all just entertainment.

I see most entertainment as just trolling or trying to get a reaction out of me. i dont take it serious unless you talk about the production of it or if it's witty writing.

and my parents didnt just play rap, they played other stuff. my dad was heavy into break beat stuff and that club zanzibar stuff, and stuff you hear on Grand Turismo OST's

the kids now are Youngboy groupies

Only Coli brehs would deny this. But everything is influential when you’re at a young age unless you have someone there to hammer in and explain to you the actual issues.

I find that the only people who have a right to defend it are people whom are not personally affected by hiphops negative effects on the Black community..

That is, non Black listerners of hip hop, executives making money off it and the actual rappers and producers themselves..everybody else is a complete fool to defend something as destructive as hip hop.

It was definitely the single most influential thing in my young life and everyone around me

Looking back now it’s like we were under a spell

The crazy thing this is gonna become a cultural phenomenon where people eventually really want to hear Ja rule’s thoughts.

He can build an entire new brand and career around that joke and antagonizing 50. Not rapping but as a media pundit or something.
How he hasn’t started a “What Does Ja Rule Think?” Channel yet, is nothing short of criminal.
