As opposed to what? Forcing gays back in the closet? Shaming them?

What do you want?

Don't support it if you don't like it...but don't act like this super masculine/thug image was that much more honorable or even reasonable.

Let people be WHO THEY ARE instead of trying to mold them.

As far as antics goes, it's been going on since forever the difference is that cats didn't put it on youtube. If this was in 94 Kanyes rants would only be seen by the cats that attended his shows.

And as far as trend goes, it's trends. Pac had leather vests and shyt in the 90s.
Cats from Cali had straight perms, rappers in the 80s had fitted jeans, certain rappers dressed crazy as fukk, mad rappers were half naked as in no shirts on etc..

Question is why the fukk so many people on the coli live seem to live a miserable life, always complaining like bytches.
If anything that is gay.

Good thread. I think we can still be a force if enough people open their eyes.

It's this treadmill shiit I can't stand tho'...mad people in the industry set up as agents to keep the status quo and argue with you. You are labeled a homophobe if you try to get black men to behave like men.

Not a diss to the honest gays out there, but I don't ever think there's been a time in my life when I've ever seen kids this confused. They don't have any men in their lives who can provide an example so they grow up with the only stimulus promoted to them, Hiphop. Now you got furry timbs and Uggs, tight jeans, leather jeans, dudes kissing on the mouth, ass cracks hanging waaaaay out and just feminine sass gestures and speech patterns.

It's tough out here for kids today. Props to those speaking truth in this thread. We can't ever have enough of it.

You can be masculine without being a thug. Nobody said all rappers had to be gangsters, whatever happened to men just being men? We dont have that now, it's like rappers are in a rat race competing with eachother to be feminine. And this troubles alot of us because of America's long history of trying to emasculate the black male. And it feels like hiphop is becoming the new tool to emasculate us because truth be told, strong black masculine males are and have always has been feared by society and popular culture since slavery.

Ive taken college classes specifically on the subject of black media depiction and black people had to struggle FOR YEARS just to have regular masculine black male characters presented fairly in media. For along time, the only black men shown were weak uncle toms or comedic c00ns. The only masculine black characters shown in old media were bucks who were depicted as basically animals. The feminine black male IS NOT a threat, America views gay black men as kind of a joke to be honest and when rappers who are supposed to represent our hiphop culture are turning towards this new feminine gimmick it's like they are reversing all the progress that we had to go through in American history just to have strong black masculine men portrayed fairly. It makes all of us look like jokes because these guys like Wayne are who corporate America and mainstream society sees representing hiphop culture.

Man fvck these all incompassing statements and massive generalizations on a fvcking Hip Hop board of all places.

J. Cole is feminine now ?
Jay-Z is feminine now ?
Nas is feminine now ?
Kendrick Lamar is feminine now ?
Lupe Fiasco is feminine now ?

C'mon Hip Hop is bigger than the same five fvcking rappers you
guys complain about.

Watch every post in here be about :
2 Chainz
Wayne
Drake
or some recent act like Trinidad James or Lil B

While y'all disregard cats like Big K.R.I.T. not a damn thing "gay" or "feminine' about him. Curren$y ? Freddy Gibbs ? Jeezy ? Stalley ?
Hopsin ? Dizzy wright ? Terrace Martin ? Ab-Soul ? Jay rock ? Tech N9ne ?
etc.

Damn I can think of so many rappers with pretty big followings online and off that aren't even remotely close to "feminine".
