I was going through my 90s Hip Hop albums, and stumbled upon this song

And I thought... damn :wow:

Now I know what's missing in today's Hip Hop. None of these rappers make songs that you FEEL. It doesn't come from the heart

Most of these rappers today are all about themselves, and no songs geared towards the people. What Hip Hop was created for

Its like I'll look at a rapper and think

Does he got bars? Check :obama:
Does he have charisma? Check :obama:

Does he have mic presence? Check :obama:

Does he have hit singles? Check :obama:

Then you wonder... What's missing... :ohhh:

It's that feeling that the song they wrote came from the heart. That the stories they tell puts you in their shoes, like you're time traveling into when they grew up, or shyt they experienced

These rappers when they make their introspective songs, I call it... "Contrived emotion" :bryan:

Only a handful of new rappers I like
Who cares what swag you got, or how much haters you got. nikkas sound like they on autopilot half the time. I feel their more transparent than a plastic bag

Moment Of Truth is one of the greatest songs of all time. There's still many great Hip Hop artists active today though.

This is the reason why Black Album>> so many others. It had a lot of real emotion in songs like "December 19th" and "Moment of Clarity"

A lot of hip hop today has no depth at all that's what it is missing. 70% is talkin about nothing. Literally.

90s hip hop was essentially talkin bout the same shyt, but they at least made it interesting

for example, AZ - Uncut raw (talkin about sellin drugs) or Biggie - nikkas Bleed, was talkin bout the same shyt a lot of rappers still rap about..makin money, doin "thug" shyt but they came wit witty rhymes and bars..

rap now a days lack that.. its a bunch of rappers who can't rap.
