Because alot of them don't have actual talent or personality. They get in the music business for fame and attention more than their actual craft. That's why they fall off because they're chasing a fickle fan base instead of authentically being themselves. Even though Cardi is a certified bird you gotta respect that she's authentic and has a loyal fan base riding behind her. Saweetie, Ice Spice, and the City Girls don't have that. But they wanted to be on the scene more than in the booth. Just recycling old songs and throwing thot books on top of it. They don't even change up the cadence or flow of the OG song either.
