Those guys shouldn't have received a dime. Their convictions were overturned and the one still in prison was released. That should have been enough. After all, they went to the park that night with the intention of committing crimes. They were rewarded for being criminals. Sickening.

they were tried as adults. planted evidence. made up false statements. took Wise back to the crime scene and tried to push him into it. uncovered that several of the cops were dirty and under investigation for separate incidents. they received $41 million, had to split that between 5, attorney fees, so essentially, they may have came out with about $5 mil each. their families received no money and they said some of them lost their jobs and some had to leave NYC because of harassment.
