Raphael Saddiq repeatedly threw shots at his former Lucy Pearl bandmate Dawn Robinson during a concert in Oakland over the weekend.

As reported by the San Francisco Chronicle, Saddiq was performing on Saturday (June 8) during his No Bandwidth: One Man, One Night, Three Decades of Hits mini tour, where he called out Robinson.

The R&B musician first suggested that Lauryn Hill would have been a better fit for Lucy Pearl than Robinson, although the eight-time Grammy winner has had tension with the Fugees for decades.

"Actually, I’d rather have Lauryn," Saddiq told the Oakland audience.

Saddiq also reflected on Robinson's sudden departure from Lucy Pearl, similar to how the vocalist first left En Vogue in the mid-1990s. "I couldn’t believe it. We did an album in six months, but toured for less than a month," he said
Saddiq also sang a rendition of Lucy Pearl's biggest hit, "Dance Tonight," saying the group "didn't need" Robinson, before landing a final blow about Robinson claiming to be homeless. "That shyt about her living in her car is not real," Saddiq proclaimed.

In a YouTube vlog from earlier this year, Robinson revealed that she'd been living in her car for close to three years after rough living arrangements with her parents and a former manager. The singer has rebuffed help and input from her ex-husband and other people in the music industry.

Lucy Pearl, who released one album, was originally composed of Saddiq, Robinson and A Tribe Called Quest's Ali Shaheed Muhammad from 1999 to 2001

Bro, she has trashed dude in the media for years. lol

He has a right to say fuhk that problem ass woman.

Yeah, because he fired her from Lucy Pearl and didn't even tell her.

Ali said he told Saadiq they should have a meeting about the differences and move forward as a group. Saadiq said nah, and kicked her out and didn't even tell her. She found out when they showed up with Joi on BET and had replaced her without notice. Ali said he wasn't even in agreement with the move.

He has beef with everybody. He had issues with Truth Hurts, The Roots, Joss Stone, Ali had to sue him, he had beef with Q-Tip. There was mad issues with Tony! Toni! Tone! Dude was saying he wanted them to get less bread than him on the tour because he was the "brains of the operation" and he wanted it to be billed as "Raphael Saadiq and Tony! Toni! Tone!", lol. Dude is an *sshole. Always has been.

Saadiq is such a trash human being.

He's hated women for years.

Dawn is a weirdo, but this dude is always beefing with women.
Whats the backstory to this?

I just posted a little about it above.

But Ali Shaheed said he always saw Saadiq having issues with women, in particular. I always thought it was because he was gay, lol. But I don’t know what it is with dude and women. He publicly speaks about them in a way he doesn't do the dudes. He beefs with with men privately. But was always mad comfortable trashing women he worked with publicly, but never says what he did to cause the issues.
